Global ICT Summit 2004

The first Global ICT Summit, with the theme "From Adversity to Success - The World's Best e-Content & e-Creativity Experience", will be held in Hong Kong from 10 to 15 May 2004.

Rapid advances in ICT (i.e. information and communication technology) have continued to drive economic changes, restructure businesses, affect skill and employment models, and contribute significantly to growth and wealth creation. However, these developments are largely uneven as many people in the world have been deprived of access to and use of information. With a shared vision of overcoming the digital divide, industry leaders from all over the world will put their heads together at the first Global ICT Summit to be held in Hong Kong for forging a common understanding as well as addressing some relevant issues.

This international event is expected to bring together 400 ICT experts and professionals from over 20 countries to share the best practices in e-content and e-creativity as well as to discuss and exchange knowledge and ideas that will shape the future of global ICT development and help bridge the digital divide on an international level. Delegates will also be able to gain first-hand experience from Hong Kong's dynamic capabilities in the advancement of ICT and its unique role as a gateway to China.

In addition, the event will provide a unique platform in the promotion of investment and creation of business opportunities.
